We had to be there at exactly 08.00 because the Germans are very strict, and the first wave of aircraft goes airborne at exactly that time. Five minutes late and everything is gone. First a Skyhawk from BAE Systems took off for a mission, and after that it went straight for the show at Nordholz where it would be on static. After that 2 QRA Eurofighters took off and returned some time later. In the meantime some other Dutch spotters arrived, and we made some new acquaintances.
The weather became increasingly better as the Mirages finally came. A nice sight, and maybe the last time we have seen them operational as they will be taken out of service within a couple of months. After refueling the Mirages returned to our end of the runway, and we were able to make some really good shots as you can see below. When the Mirages were out of sight we went home, feeling good!
